The first to enter gaming into the HD arena, was Microsoft
with their successor to the original Xbox, the Xbox 360.
The 360 was plagued by the dreaded Red Ring of Death, three
red lights on the power indicator than noted that the system
had a "General Hardware Failure" and had to be brought in
for repairs. Microsoft were slow to even acknowledge the
issue, but eventually extended the warranty to three years
to combat the problem; while redesigning the internals,
giving us the Falcon and then later, the Jasper. Even with
this problem, it hard to ignore the sheer amount of great
games for the system, in particular, exclusive games like
Gears of War, Fable and Mass Effect. And that's not even
mentioning Live Arcade, an area specialising in smaller
niche titles that can go places that other big budget games
might fear to tread. |
